Quarantine Measures
during the pandemic of
COVID-19

This quarantine measure is effective from 01 October 2021.

Applicable For

➢ Tourists arriving via Sri Lanka Tourism.

➢ Foreign Nationals including valid Resident Visa holders.

➢ Citizens/ Dual Citizens.

➢ Approved Foreign National staff of Diplomatic Missions.
➢ Foreign National Heads of UN organizations/ UN Specialized agencies/ International Organizations.

Fully Vaccinated, departs after two weeks of completion of vaccination.

1. COVID-19 PCR Test should be done 72 hours before embarkation / Rapid Antigen Test should be done 48 hours before embarkation and arrive with a negative report.

​

2. NO PCR Test or Level 1 Accommodation should be required.

​

Fully Vaccinated Guests accompanying Children (Below 18 years)
Fully vaccinated guests with accompanying Children (Below 12 years) do NOT need to do COVID-19 testing after arriving in Sri Lanka.

​

Fully vaccinated guests with accompanying Children (between 12 to 18 years) NEED to undergo Day 1 PCR Testing. If the Day 1 PCR test report is negative, they can be released from quarantine and should be allowed to go home/hotel with fully vaccinated parents. They will not be further quartined. 

NOT Fully Vaccinated, departs within less than two weeks of completion of recommended doses of vaccination).

1. COVID-19 PCR Test should be done 72 hours before embarkation / Rapid Antigen Test should be done 48 hours before embarkation and arrive with a negative report.

​

2. All travelers should obtain a COVID-19 Insurance Cover.

​

3. Day One (on Arrival) PCR upon arrival at the hotel. 

​

4. Should be mandatorily quarantined at a safe & secure certified level 1 hotel until completion of fourteen days.

​

5. Second PCR Test on Day 11-14.

​

6. Release from institutional quarantine after completion of 14 days - Travel FREE.

​

Non-Vaccinated Guests
For any guests completing 14 days and going into the community, the hotel should get approval from SLTDA before releasing them. The release request should come with the hotel doctor's signed Discharge Note and Passport Copy.

Unvaccinated Guests accompanying Children (Below 18 years)

Unvaccinated guests with accompanying Children (Below 12 years) do NOT need to do COVID-19 testing after arriving in Sri Lanka.

​

Unvaccinated guests with accompanying Children (Between 12 to 18 years) should perform Day 1 PCR and undergo 14-day quarantine Safe & Secure Certified Level 1 Hotel. Should perform exit PCR test on Day 12 and can be released from quarantine on Day 14 with a negative test result. 

​

> The quarantine period of the above-mentioned travelers will be extended if they are identified as immediate close contacts of a COVID-19 positive person.

> If you receive a positive PCR test report, you will be admitted to intermediate care center (ICC) / designated hospital.
